Superblue Miami Showcases Its Stunning Event Space At A Sophisticated Networking Event

Superblue, one of Miami’s most cutting-edge art museums, is paving the way not only in the world of art, but in the event space as well. Their 5,000 sq. ft. space is a contemporary canvas whose sleek design can adapt to fit any type of occasion. On June 16, 2022, the Superblue team welcomed a talented group of event industry professionals to network and experience the ultramodern new venue.

We sat down with Donald Goldberg of the Events team at Superblue Miami to find out more about this unforgettable night of networking and socializing.

1. Tell us how this event came to be. What was the inspiration and overall goal and who were the target attendees?

Our COO, Marcy Davis, wanted to find a way to showcase our event space to industry pros, and she thought a partnership with PartySlate would be a great fit. The attendees were selected with the help of Le Basque, our catering partner, and Sarah from PartySlate. We were looking to bring a group of event planners together under one roof in order to make industry connections and really show our guests what Superblue has to offer.

2. Who were your key partners and their roles in making this a successful gathering?

Our key partner in this event was Jim Mozina and his incredible team at Le Basque. Without his guidance, leadership, and inspiration, we would have been stuck. Jim used his expansive knowledge of the industry to select the other partners to showcase with us. His curation was the key to this event’s success.

Event Effects and Event Outfitters, Corp. provided stunning furniture and décor rentals. Pete Diaz Productions was responsible for the customized lighting and sound design. These vendors brought the space together in a way that was elegant, modern, and totally representative of Superblue Miami. Sweet Guilt partnered with us as well to offer beautiful and unique branded desserts.

3. What’s one moment or experience that stood out to you about the Superblue Miami event?

As soon as I invited everyone into the museum on the night of the event, it was a stampede to get in there! All of the attendees were thrilled at the opportunity to connect with each other and experience Superblue from the perspective of a guest rather than a planner. It made me truly happy to see everyone’s enthusiasm for this event; it showed me just how worthwhile our efforts were.

Where should I start when planning a networking event?

When it comes to a networking event, selecting the perfect venue is crucial. You’ll want to find a location that is easy to navigate and large enough to allow guests to find their own space to converse. Then, since we all know that food and drink often gives people a reason to gather, secure a caterer. Consider a menu of small passed bites and curated (perhaps branded) cocktails for an event that allows guests to wander and meet each other. Or opt for a dinner party to help guests create deeper connections over the course of an evening. Don’t forget to find a rental company to help furnish your event. It’s important to outfit your venue with furniture that allows attendees to get comfortable so they can sit back, relax, and get to know each other.
