Tica Rose Events (TRE) has been a pioneering force in Florida event planning since opening its doors in 2014. On September 24, 2022, TRE threw Summer Fete, Picnic in the Sun, a showstopping, Tulum-themed bash that united many of South Florida’s top vendors. From grand floral displays to curated activities and branded favors, every detail of #SummerFete2.0 was a resounding success.
We sat down with Erica “Tica” Duroseau, founder of Tica Rose Events, to learn more about the fun and fashionable occasion.
Tell us how Summer Fete came to be. What was the inspiration and overall goal, and who were the attendees?
The conversation around Summer Fete originally occurred in the summer of 2020. I noticed a lack of opportunities for industry creatives to come together to network and learn from one another. I wanted to fill that void. My thought was, “Why not create a beautifully-styled event where we can dress in theme, have great conversations, and learn from one another?”
Who were your key partners and what were their roles in making this a successful gathering?
We were blessed to have so many amazing vendors come together to assist us with executing our vision for Summer Fete. The following partnerships were pivotal in making the event a huge success:
- MPE Event Group played a huge role with the full branding and production in conjunction with By Dami Studios who designed the branded elements of Summer Fete
- Petal Productions and W&W Flowers & Events designed amazing florals which tied in perfectly with the balloon designs provided by Pretti Parties
- L.P.R. Design Group provided the most elegant furniture that perfectly fit our theme
- Caribbean Bites Catering prepared the mouthwatering food, which paired wonderfully with the Champagne provided by JP Chenet with Femme of Success.
- Our guests stayed hydrated thanks to Topo Chico Mineral Water provided by Diana M. Aranda
- DJ Luck C., DJ Bugz, and DJ Haitian Mike kept the guests dancing into the evening
- Last and certainly not least, Lead Photographer Imagery by Jules Photography and Playback Media Wedding Videography documented every aspect of the event

What’s one moment or experience that stood out to you about Summer Fete, Picnic in the Sun?
One of the most memorable moments was the panel. It was a breath of fresh air to be able to share the stage with so many uplifting and powerful women. The transparency and education provided by the panel was priceless. Every member shared the story of their journey to success and provided some true gems of wisdom for the audience. The moment stood out because of the way it inspired attendees — just what Summer Fete was all about!
