A winter party is the perfect occasion to deck the halls – literally. Line the entryway to your event with metallic garlands, like at this beautiful surprise birthday dinner at The Langham, Boston. It’s the perfect way to transition your guests from their everyday routine to a winter wonderland.
Nothing says “winter” like a trip to the slopes. This ski lodge-inspired Bar Mitzvah party, planned by Jen Gould Event Design, featured personalized skiing equipment and antler décor to bring the theme to life. A setup like this one is sure to make guests feel like they’re on holiday at your event.

Love the beauty of snow, but don’t want to celebrate in the chilly outdoors? Bring the winter wonderland indoors by getting creative with your lighting. This Boston Bat Mitzvah party used creative lighting by Suzanne B. Lowell Lighting Design to mimic dazzling flurries — with none of the cold.
This combination of lucite décor and metal furniture created a sophisticated nod to an icy winter. The chrome chairs, clear glass votives, and transparent tree stands at this Atlanta celebration, hosted at Ali Events at Lakewood Atlanta, transported guests to an icy paradise.
Colorful lighting is a great way to play up your event theme, and cool blues can be the perfect addition to your winter celebration. See how the dance floor at this holiday bash, designed by The Style Marc, was instantly highlighted by the seasonally inspired lighting. The snow-like projections and modern ceiling fixtures work together to illuminate the celebration.
An elegant ceiling installation can evoke the beauty of a chilly winter day. This showstopping quinceañera, planned by Lemiga Events, was adorned with an icicle-like crystal display that left attendees in awe.
Outfitting your venue with custom drapery is a wonderful way to create an intimate, wintry space. The billowing white fabric used at this winter-themed baby shower, planned by Detailed Touch Events, created a whimsical wonderland for the parents-to-be.
Nothing says “holiday cheer” like a sparkly photo op. Add some (or a lot) of glitter to your décor to create a festive vibe for your event. See how planner Nick Gentile Events & Weddings made the most of this backdrop by adorning it with picture-perfect, shimmering decorations.
No matter the occasion, an event can always benefit from a seasonal arboreal display. This corporate holiday party at Sunset Room Hollywood utilized full-sized evergreens to accentuate the snowy theme.
Adding an igloo (or several) will truly make your venue feel like a winter wonderland. This festive New York B’nai Mitzvah party, planned by Jennifer Zabinski Events, featured a fresh take on a teens’ hangout spot: a collection of igloo structures in which guests could chill – literally.
Shades of icy blue can bring a whimsical winter day anywhere – even to a 70th-birthday bash in sunny Los Angeles. These chic table settings, planned by Sterling Engagements and designed by Shawna Yamamoto Event Design, make use of icy hues that look cool in more ways than one.
You can easily create the illusion of an enchanting ice display by incorporating acrylic accents into your event design. These stunning menus by A Good Day brought an icy elegance to this Ontario corporate event.
A self-serve snack bar is a great way to satisfy hungry guests, and this charming snow shack is the perfect inspo. This “Winter One-derland” birthday celebration by Social Llama Events served up sweet treats (catered by Vestals Catering) on a snowflake-adorned display that’s as adorable as it is functional.
When you host a party during the colder months, there are endless opportunities for seasonally-inspired sips. This wedding, celebrated at The Bedford Village Inn, featured a shot ski for a memorable and festive photo op.
There are lots of ways to subtly highlight the theme of your event, and catering is one of them. This New York dinner party served up a festive punch bowl on a stunning tablescape by Patrick J Clayton Productions. Use this inspiration for all of your cuisine by serving up seasonally inspired snacks in addition to sips.

At PartySlate, we are always looking for creative ways to take events to the next level. We watch new event ideas come and go every year, and this year we are spotting the hottest catering trends that are to come in 2023. We also reached out to some of the top caterers around the country to get their predictions of what will be trending going into the new year.
One of our favorite approaches to catering is an increased focus on sustainability and supporting local businesses. Below, we have dedicated a section to highlighting some of the best catering companies that take this sustainability mission to heart. From growing all of their own vegetables in an on-site greenhouse to sourcing ingredients solely from local suppliers, you’ll find the best caterers with the freshest produce — and ideas.
BTWC Co. Culinary Concepts elaborates by saying, “Party hosts, and guests, are becoming more health-conscious and want to hire a caterer they can trust to serve clean food that will make them feel good. The party doesn’t necessarily end at the end of the night. When you wake up in the morning, you can feel the difference in eating clean food.”
Keep reading to discover even more of our favorite catering trends to take over 2023. You’ll be the first of your friends to host the most delectable party of the year.
See How Paramount Events Promotes Sustainability & Supports Local Businesses
PartySlate is proud to endorse caterers that practice and promote sustainability. Leaving this world a better place than we found it is a mission near and dear to these caterers’ hearts. Read on to find their insight on catering trends that are making a difference.
Delivering Experiences notes, “Food should be dynamic, creative, and inspiring. Sustainability is a very important trend in our industry that will continue in 2023. Using locally-sourced ingredients, reducing food waste, and moving to a greener service are ways to inspire guests through food.”
Deborah Miller Catering & Events comments on this topic, saying, “Clients want to see sustainability through every step of their event. Guests want to know that each ingredient in a dish is sustainable, that there is a focus on sustainability in a company’s culture, and that the dishes they’ve come to love can be made without undue impact on the environment. A focus on local producers for every step of the catering process is pivotal in achieving this trend, as well.”

Greenhouse Fare
Della Terra catered this delicious farm-to-table event hosted inside of a plant nursery.
They note, “Catering featuring fresh, local ingredients means that the food at your event will be better tasting, but also better for you and for the environment. Local sourcing also introduces guests who may be traveling from out-of-town to the local flavors of your region, providing a truly unique and delicious dining experience.”
This company’s commitment to sustainable catering has us in awe. Big Delicious Planet served only the freshest, in-season vegetables for this Chicago wedding.
In addition to sustainable ingredients, locally-sourced ingredients are just as important to hosts and guests alike. Wine Meats Cheese says, “Post-shutdown, our clients have taken a keen interest in where their beverages come from as well as the stories behind the wineries, breweries, and distilleries that we purvey. We see this support as providing more and more artisans the opportunity to share their craft with us and the events we serve.”
Bubbles & Brews Massachusetts hosted a beer garden pop-up event where they served refreshments from a local brewery, supporting the community and promoting a small business.
Paramount Events catered this stunning Chicago rooftop wedding, serving crudités and hummus cups filled with herbs grown in their greenhouse and vegetables sourced from local farms.
We’ve seen cauliflower, kale, and chickpeas elevate from accompaniment to main dish. Now, mushrooms are the tasty new alternative. Beyond being one of our favorite new catering trends, mushrooms are being incorporated into every aspect of the party. Check out mushroom décor in our article on wedding and party trends of 2023 for even more inspiration.
Thomas Preti Events to Savor served a mushroom-filled menu, complete with mushroom-stuffed ravioli and mushroom décor around the serving stations at PartySlate’s most recent New York gathering.
These glow-in-the-dark mushroom cups from Relish Catering & Hospitality were the ultimate Instagramable moment at this awe-inspiring corporate event for Samsung.
Party hosts are wanting to create an immersive environment for their guests. Open-fire cooking is the perfect way to accomplish this. This preparation style not only draws intrigue from passerby, it showcases the chefs’ talents and hard work. Find a few of our favorite examples from top caterers below.
Bartleby & Sage notes, “Open-fire cooking is dramatic. It takes our guests back to a primal sense of what sharing a meal means: warmth, kinship, and awe. The smell of the wood-fire, the spectacle of the dancing flames — this is experience catering at its farm-to-table best.”
Unique Culinary Collective told us about a recent corporate event they catered, saying, “The client wanted their food and beverage experience to be the entertainment for the evening. Our operations and culinary team accepted the challenge and built a full guest-facing kitchen behind an 18-foot-station display.
“Featuring wood fire grills and ovens, charcoal spit, and more, freshly made gyros, kibbeh, and hummus were plated right in front of the guests. A feast of the eyes and senses allowed guests to interact with our chefs, learning about the craft. This unexpected approach to catering peels back the veil and gives guests the opportunity to see the inner-workings of the culinary team.”
Considering your guests dietary needs and choices is a way of taking care of them; it shows them that they are important to you. Catering by Design offers insight into this trend by saying, “its all about an increase in dietary, vegetarian, and vegan-focused options.”
They go on to say, “It’s no secret that we as a society have begun to reduce meat consumption in the past few years. We have seen a huge increase in requests for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and other less-traditional menu options. Clients want full menus, food stations, and desserts that can accommodate a variety of dietary and allergy needs. Using fresh, local ingredients, we are able to create unforgettable menus that hit every dietary need.”
Not only was the wedding cake at this chic garden wedding deliciously vegan, but The Beverly Hills Hotel’s acclaimed Chef Sebastien Guillemin prepared all of the reception snacks, such as milkshakes and soft pretzels, to be vegan.
We have seen childhood treats come back in style in many elegant ways. Marcia Selden Catering & Events compares catering trends to fashion trends, saying, “Much like fashion, trends come back in and out of style. We have begun embracing the nostalgia of comfort food with a twist, elevating the fan favorites with fun and clever presentations.”
Kuma’s Corner notes, “Comfort food reminds clients of happy moments from home and their childhood. With so much constant change, we’re all holding on to a bit of the past. Choosing food that is associated with good memories of childhood and incorporating those flavors into your wedding is one way to do that.”
Pop tarts will forever remind us of our childhood, and Naborly Provisions agrees. They served these sweet, frosted pockets at a pop-up installation event in Dallas, Texas.
BTWC Co. Culinary Concepts presents “Slingers,” their signature turkey burger sliders. This spin on a childhood classic is the perfect health-conscious alternative that is here to stay.
We have seen mocktails rise to the top of bar menus in recent years. This year, we are predicting mocktail shooters and shots as a fun twist on this trend. With our focus turned to health and wellness, guests and hosts are opting for a non-alcoholic option.
Contemporary Catering and Event Production believes, “Exciting nonalcoholic beverages will have a big impact on events this coming year.” They go on to note, “There has certainly been a big push for promoting health and wellness. This is unique as it allows people to focus on human connection — the reason we party in the first place.”
We all know party-goers love a unique serving station. Footers Catering speaks of this trend, saying, “Vertical food stations are an unexpected and fun way catch your guests’ attention. They are fully customizable and add depth and height to a display. They can be interactive between Chef and guests, allowing for a more personal dining experience. Unique vessels elevate the presentation and allow guests to enjoy delicious food and conversation at the same time.”
Gaurav Anand says, “The majority of clients and guests are attracted by the presentation and appearance of food displays more than the taste — one eats with the eyes first.”
They note, “In an industry that naturally has so much waste, whether food or packaging, taking the step to do our part in helping the environment is truly special.”
Last year, we predicted tea stations as one of the hottest catering trends of 2022. This year, we are loving tea in a different form. Bubbles & Brews Massachusetts speaks of a trend being served up at their restaurant, Mecha Noodle Bar, located in Brookline, Massachusetts. Come partake in this tasty Boozy Boba trend that you won’t find anywhere other than their establishments, they say.
Deborah Miller Catering & Events also comments on this hot new trend, saying, “Boozy Boba is a new drink trend that is borrowing on the popularity of the Espresso Martini, but taking it in a new direction. Clients are increasingly seeking something less sweet and more complex that blends everyday life, yet the excitement of a cocktail.”
Caviar is coming back in a big way. Once touted as a delicacy only accessible to some, caterers are showcasing it as a must-taste delicious dish. Find some of our favorite caterers serving caviar at their events below, plus see how Sterling Caviar is encouraging everyone to dive into this catering trend.
Sterling Caviar reminded guests at PartySlate’s gorgeous corporate event in Washington D.C. that caviar is an elevated dish that everyone should enjoy.
11. Move Over Champagne, Non-Traditional Towers Are In
We all love a classic Champagne tower, but top caterers are predicting a shift. “While Champagne towers were all the rage this summer, 2023 party hosts are going to look for something a bit more personal. Espresso Martini towers are going to be the new go-to, for brides, grooms, and party hosts alike,” says Dolce & Gelato Catering Inc.
Craft Cartel Cocktail Catering notes that with cocktail towers, “The emphasis is being focused on elements that provide a creative spin on the classics and areas that make the experience more fun and entertaining.”
This epic infusion tower, by Abigail Kirsch Catering, filtered the specialty cocktail through various citrus flavors to dispense the perfect sip.
Abigail Kirsch comments on this cocktail tower trend, saying, “Cocktail towers allow guests to enjoy something special beyond just a standard cocktail.”
This is one of the sleekest catering trends that we have seen. Printing your menu on guests’ napkins not only saves space on the table, but saves paper as well. Try graceful calligraphy, as pictured below, or any menu style that fits your event’s theme.
24 Carrots Catering and Events always has their finger on the pulse of new trends. They wowed us with these stunning calligraphy menus printed on cloth napkins.
At PartySlate, we are honored to showcase age-old traditions of all cultures — be it cultural wedding ceremonies, receptions, or celebrations of other milestones. My House Events comments, saying, “I think something unique is that people are really wanting to highlight the cultures they are from, and focus on specific foods that represent their backgrounds. Customization is key. A lot of people share Latino heritage and are excited to provide guests with nostalgic food that reminds them of what made them.”
Food First Events & Catering Co. says, “We get asked all the time to create unique fusion menus that incorporate our couples’ multicultural backgrounds into their wedding or party menus. We love when we are asked to create fusion menus with bold flavors because it allows us to show off our chefs’ true talents of developing delicious and unique flavors that make guests and couples feel like they are getting a true culinary experience at their event. Our goal is to hear, ‘This is the best wedding food we have ever had.'”
Mantra – Indian Garden served authentic Indian cuisine in cocktail hour-friendly, bite-size pieces. Mango Habanero Paneer Tika bites were the star of the show.
The best part of any party is the cuisine. Find a top caterer near you who can incorporate some of the latest trends in catering that your friends haven’t seen (or tasted) yet. There are some classic catering elements that never go out of style, and some that evolve into something even better.
For example, the Champagne tower has been a beloved trend at weddings and special events for years. Now, caterers and hosts are moving towards alternative towers. Rosé, espresso martinis, and Aperol Spritz towers are all the rage these days. You’re sure to excite your guests with an alternative tower filled with your cocktail of choice.
Planning a celebration takes time, resources, and plenty of research. For the party host looking to simplify the process, private dining is the perfect solution. Additionally, private dining rooms frequently come with onsite staff to assist with everything from planning to day-of service.
So which types of celebrations benefit from a private dining spot? Restaurants with party rooms are a great venue choice for social events such as milestone birthday parties, baby showers, graduations, and rehearsal dinners. They are also a fabulous option for more intimate company holiday parties as well as corporate dinners. We’ve even seen some smaller weddings wow in a private dining setting.

Read on to find real events held at Montage Kapalua Bay, a stunning Hawaiian resort venue. You’ll gain inspiration and begin to visualize how your event could look in this beautiful space.
We talked to the team at Montage Kapalua Bay to get insight into the flexible and customizable nature of this stunning Hawaiian venue. One of our favorite aspects of an event venue, especially if your locale is particularly beautiful, is an outdoor space – with weather-safe options of course. Lehua Swezey, Meetings & Events Manager at Montage Kapalua Bay, explains, “The best part about all of our outdoor spaces is that each event can be reimagined.”
She goes on to paint a visual of the stunning resort by saying, “Montage Kapalua Bay is located on the Island of Maui, perched on a cliff overlooking the crescent shaped Kapalua Bay. Comfortably spread across 24 acres, this oceanfront resort offers expansive views of the Pacific Ocean, the Islands of Lana’i, and Moloka’i.”
She adds, “The most unique and desired space is The Cliff House, a historic building perched on top of a cliff face that boasts 180-degree views of the Pacific with unforgettable sunsets. The Cliff House is the ideal locale for celebrations and events. The service is impeccable, with genuine care and a luxury touch that embody the ‘Aloha Spirit.’
“The Serenity Pool is also a favorite outdoor destination for our guests and is where our Sunset Luau is performed throughout the week.”
This venue is perfect for outdoor events, as Swezey notes, “The entire Point Lawn can be used for your wedding ceremony, reception, dance, and photoshoot.”
This stunning and delicate event style takes the beauty of the venue’s natural surroundings and infuses it into every aspect of the event. From pastel-hued florals filling the tables to the clear-top tent covering the outdoor reception space, this event honored the venue’s beauty in every way. For a dreamy look after the sunset, string lights illuminated the ceiling of the wedding tent for a starry night feel.
Swezey notes that “all event spaces can accommodate any family gathering.” From weddings to destination birthday celebrations, Montage Kapalua Bay is a dream destination for your event.
She continues, “All accommodations at Montage Kapalua Bay are residential-style, with multi-bedroom suites and grand layouts. Each room naturally connects guests attending the wedding. Guests are able to reserve a private luau in their residence or join our weekly public Sunset Luau.”
This muted bohemian event style took elements such as floral crowns, woven lanterns, and wildflower centerpieces and blended them into an understated, yet breathtaking motif. The waves crashing behind the colorful floral arch helped set the serene tone for this wedding.
Swezey describes the luxe experience that you and your guests will have while staying onsite: “The resort showcases the island lifestyle with a multi-tiered lagoon pool which cascades down the center of the resort – four restaurants and bars, over 50,000-square-feet of outdoor event space, and an intimate room for indoor meetings and functions.
“The 40,000-square-foot Spa Montage harnesses the essence of Hawaii with an exceptional palette of spa therapies, beauty treatments, and wellness offerings inspired by the tropical surroundings.”
This tropical event style infused a boho style with tropical elements to create the perfect affair filled with palm fronds and pops of bright color. This stylish wedding, held on the breathtaking Point Lawn, featured one of our favorite examples of unique place cards.
Your guests will love their resort stay (and the wow-worthy fare) as well. “Dining venues range from the upscale Cane & Canoe, to the casual dinner setting at The Hideaway, to the grab-and-go Mahana Market,” explains Swezey. Also enjoy “the full-service Spa Montage, historic Cliff House, neighboring two championship golf courses, tennis courts, and zip-lines.
“A cultural ambassador will guide you through the rich history of the islands through arts and crafts, music, dance and talk story sessions. Enhance the day with daily rituals such as koi fish feeding, hikes, fitness classes, children’s programs and more. Enjoy a series of special events in the area throughout the year, including Kapalua Wine & Food Festival, the PGA Sentry Tournament of Champions, and Champagne Hale at Cliff House.”
Swezey speaks of the essence of the resort by saying, “Here, you will feel embraced by genuine island hospitality and culture. It is truly the perfect setting for multi-generational family vacations, secluded getaways, executive retreats, weddings, or any special occasion celebration.”
MaryAnn Blanchard, Director of Meetings & Events at Montage Kapalua Bay states, “This property is a beautiful canvas for the wedding or event of your dreams. We partner with an extensive list of expert planners and vendors who work hard to understand and execute the vision of each of our clients. Additionally, our talented team of chefs will go beyond your expectations to create an exceptional culinary experience for you and your guests. An event here is truly extraordinary.”

Private dining in NYC offers options both plentiful and varied. In a city known for its dining scene, it’s hard to know which spot is just right for an important celebration. And when you’re hosting a group, you want every detail to be just right.
Luckily, we spoke with top event and wedding planners in New York for their recommendations. They know everything from the best spot for a rehearsal dinner to the perfect place to raise a glass to a milestone birthday. We’ve got the best restaurants with private rooms in New York for all of your meaningful and memorable gatherings.
For a Michelin-star Italian restaurant that will wow friends and family. Top event planner, Lauren Fishman of Lauren Fishman Events, shares, “Marea has a wonderful private room and great food. I recently hosted a client’s Friday dinner for family and friends the night before her daughter’s Bat Mitzvah at Marea — and the food and service were perfect.”

For a historic spot that has undergone a careful renovation that nods to its storied past. New York Times notes that the space is a “combination of surrealism [and] tradition” serving up contemporary Spanish dishes as curated by a chef who spent three years dishing up fare at the Embassy in Madrid.
For people who like to be in-the-know, Annie Lee of Daughter of Design shares a brand-new restaurant worth checking out: Al Coro. The elegant restaurant features live music every evening as well as subterranean private dining rooms perfect for any kind of celebration.
For live-fire cooking, house-made pasta, and a robust Italian wine list. Leane Romeo of Overland Entertainment suggests, “Ci Siamo is Danny Meyer’s newest restaurant with Executive Chef Hillary Sterling. This is currently my favorite restaurant in Manhattan, with exceptional service and food in a relaxed, comfortable environment.”
For a place that your friends haven’t been to yet, consider Mel’s, an upscale pizza concept in the former Del Posto space that Annie Lee of Daughter of Design put on our radar.
For everything from quiet and cozy-dim dining rooms to chic alfresco dining on classic, rustic Italian cuisine, try Gemma, located in The Bowery Hotel. Lauren Fishman of Lauren Fishman Events shares that the spot is great for wedding and baby showers as well as celebratory dinners of all kinds.
For epic views and fare from renowned Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. David Landgraf of Make It Happen Mgmt says, “The Fulton’s private dining room offers the best culinary experience, outdoor dining, and quintessential New York City views of the historic Brooklyn Bridge.”
For a room for private dining in NYC that feels like its own restaurant. Leslie Price of In Any Event says, “Craft Restaurant is a staple and a hidden gem. They have a private dining room with its own entrance which can seat up to 40, but I love buying out the beautifully-designed main dining room for up to 100 seated guests (80 is better). Expect incredible food, an interesting wine list, and impeccable service.” Price helpfully adds that the private dining room is being used for a pop up for 2022 (so book out for next year).
Craft features two spaces and can accommodate up to 200 guests.
For an intimate gathering around a single, gorgeous table surrounded by antiques and art. Florie Huppert of Florie Huppert Design says, “I love the classics like the Gramercy Tavern. I’m an old school New Yorker, and my favorite places are classic and always perfect.”

The venue is really versatile — you can buy out just the private event space, which works for an intimate seated dinner or cocktails for up to 250. It’s a blank canvas and also a finished space with lots of potential to customize. If you buy out the entire floor, it’s perfect for a ceremony, cocktails, dinner and dancing. With floor-to-ceiling windows on the 101st floor, the skyline view is undoubtedly the star. There’s a small outdoor private spot your guests can access, one floor above the Edge observatory…Also, they have a small private dining room for 14 guests if you’re looking for something really intimate. And the elevator ‘shows’ both up and down are an experience unto themselves.”
For an early-American tavern vibe and your choice of interesting private dining rooms. Leane Romeo of Overland Entertainment, says, “Freemans is a special gem of a restaurant, located at the end of an alley off Bowery in the Lower East Side. For a truly grand Mid-Century New York chophouse that will wow your guests. The restaurant features upscale dining and amazing service that is especially well-suited to a special occasion. Don’t miss seeing how this milestone birthday party was celebrated in the space.

David Landgraf of Make It Happen Mgmt recommends “The Garden Table” at Le Pavillon. He says of the space, “Nestled among this internal zen garden, you follow a path to a semi-private dining table to experience the epicurean delicacies of Chef Daniel Boulud and his team of culinary geniuses.”
Both Leslie Price of In Any Event and Lauren Fishman of Lauren Fishman Events recommend The Modern for private dining in New York. Price says, “It overlooks the sculpture garden and features catering by Danny Meyers. What more can I say?”
Fishman adds that she likes not only the private dining room but also the “kitchen table” with its opportunity to dine right in the kitchen where all of the action is.
For a spot where art and design meet. Leslie Price of In Any Event says, “I adore the The Orangery in The Whitby Hotel. The aesthetic is lovely. There’s seated space for up to 50 that also has an adjacent private garden. It’s perfect for bridal showers! What if I want to host my event at a restaurant or bar, but I don’t need the entire place to myself?
Restaurant/bar venues come in all shapes and sizes. No matter the number of guests, you’ll probably be able to find places with rental options that fit your needs. Reach out to venues and inquire about private and semi-private dining areas. Lots of spots have a variety of options with varying capacities, so there’s a good chance you’ll find a space that works for you, no matter the size of your group.
Can I decorate a restaurant or bar, or do I have to use the existing decor?
Restaurants and bars may have differing rules in place about outside decor, so be sure that your venue allows for as much or as little decor as you’d like to bring. Do you want a blank canvas for a floral artist to work magic in? Would you prefer a venue that you don’t need to accessorize? Check with a venue about their regulations before booking to ensure that the space can be exactly what you envision.

Cannon Green Event Spaces
Fleming shares, “Our venue consists of four very unique spaces. The Garden Room, which is an intimate space with a historic Charleston home facade and beautiful skylights.
“Our restaurant, Wild Common, which features Chef Orlando’s Tasting Menu experience.
“Our Courtyard, which while it is rented with the Trolley Room, is a unique stand-alone oasis flanked by reflecting pools and statuesque palmetto trees. This area is perfect for a wedding ceremony and/or cocktail hour.
“Then, our fourth and largest event space, The Trolley Room, which is a historic trolley barn that can seat up to 150 guests for dinner. No matter the type of event, The Trolley Room is a blank canvas that can easily be transformed to fit your event needs.”
Fleming says their most unique space is The Trolley Room. “This space truly is a blank canvas and is able to meet any event’s needs, plus bring a phenomenal vision to life. Whether it be a stationed dinner, a seated, formal event, a presentation, or a cocktail party, this space can be set up in a variety of ways with no two events looking the same,” Fleming notes.
She continues, “The front of the Trolley Room is flanked by bookshelves on either side, so this is a great place to put a speaker, your bar, or DJ to allow them to stand out!”

This stunning preppy wedding style takes inspiration from Southern fashion and seasonal florals. The centerpieces and floral arrangements decorating the venue make a beautiful statement without masking the raw beauty of the space.
For a weather-safe option, this couple tented The Courtyard where the outdoor ceremony was held. This allowed for a stress-free wedding, as well as a natural flow from the indoor Garden and Trolley Rooms to the outdoor courtyard during the reception.

Fleming continues, “Our Trolley Room is adjacent to the Courtyard, so this allows for a smooth flow for guests to go from the inside to the outside all evening.
“The courtyard has luscious greenery and water flowing that makes you feel like you’re in an entirely different place.” This area is ideal for a cocktail hour, reception, or intimate dinner party. Dress it up with colorful florals, interesting tablescapes, and more.
This elegant wedding style is a blend of romantic and classic elements. The abundance of greenery filing the tables and hanging from the ceiling gives The Trolley Room a fresh springtime ambiance. The Courtyard served as the perfect setting for this dreamy wedding ceremony, transforming then into a cocktail hour space.

There are many ways to configure the layout of your event space. Fleming notes, “I love when people do a long table down the middle of the space with tables surrounding it on either side. This makes this large space feel both communal and intimate, while having a clean layout.”
The next event below perfectly demonstrates that vision.
This wedding presents a chic modern style. The Trolley Room’s wooden ceiling beams are perfect for creating wow-worthy ceiling installations. Hang wedding ceiling décor above your head table as an elegant way to draw attention to the couple and their wedding party amidst a room of dining tables.

In addition to Cannon Green being a stunning venue for all types of events, Charleston is a fabulous town with much to see and do. Conveniently, “The venue is located in a wonderful neighborhood that is surrounded by luxury Airbnb’s and B&B’s,” Fleming tells us. “Many of our clients and couples choose to rent these for getting ready, as well as for weekend accommodations for family members and guests,” she notes.
