Last year Pantone wowed us with two colors of the year for 2021, as if they (like us) had no idea what the new year might hold. They introduced a steadfast gray and a cheery yellow, meeting our dual needs for stability and hope. Now, the trend-setting brand has released their Pantone “Color of the Year” for 2022: Very Peri.

There were no tears left to cry after pop singer Ariana Grande and real estate agent Dalton Gomez secretly tied the knot at her home in Montecito, CA in mid-May. After a little over a year of dating the two opted in for a micro wedding with fewer than 20 guests at Grande’s home. The ceremony was informal and said to be more of an exchanging of vows surrounded by hundreds of white florals as décor. Grande wore a custom lily white Vera Wang gown with an open back that was stunning. This at-home wedding had to make the list this year as one of our favorites.

No one throws an over-the-top party like Kim Kardashian West, so it was no surprise when she turned an ordinary construction theme into a trending kids party theme. The party took place in the backyard of the reality star’s Hidden Hills home. There was a real digger, a bounce house, giant sand pits, and of course the perfect construction uniforms for all the little guests. Oh how we love the creativity of a Kardashian celebration.

The long-time Voice couple, Gwen and Blake, set off more than just fireworks on the Fourth of July weekend. The couple exchanged vows at Blake’s ranch in Oklahoma in a chapel custom-built for the ceremony. The wedding was small in size with 40 of their closest friends and family, but was large in personal details. Steph Curry continues to set the bar high for men everywhere. On July 30th, he surprised his wife Ayesha with a backyard vow renewal ceremony to reaffirm the promises they made to each other 10 years ago. Thinking it was going to be a normal anniversary celebration, Ayesha came home to find a wedding dress picked out by Steph and a backyard ceremony waiting. It was an intimate ceremony planned by Alicia K Designs, for just the couple and their children. Their younger children, Ryan and Cannon, walked their mom through the grass of their backyard to the altar of flowers. Meanwhile, their oldest child, Riley, officiated the sweet backyard ceremony.
5. Lily Collins & Charlie McDowell’s Enchanted Forest Wedding

Fairytales do come true — just ask Lily Collins and her husband Charlie McDowell. The two tied the knot in Dunton Springs, CO on September 4th, 2021. She made all of us want to get married in the middle of the forest. The couple rented out a wooded resort with a picture-perfect backdrop of the San Juan Mountains and mineral hot springs. The wedding was a more intimate affair with less than 40 guests. Heirlooms Designs made their vision of rustic elegance come to life with hand picked flowers and vintage décor.
The second annual Poolside with Poosh did not disappoint. This year, the team decided to opt in for a more intimate event with a spa day. A smaller guest list ensured that every guest was able to feel completely pampered and get the individual treatment they deserved. Sharon Sacks, founder of Sacks Productions and event designer, Leigh Carter helped bring Kourtney’s vision to life. Upon arrival, guests were able to pick out custom spa treatments for the day and place their intentions for the day on the “intention tree”. Throughout the event, guests wore robes from Slip Silk and personalized eye masks, scrunchies and glam bands. This corporate event was one we wish we were on the list for (maybe next year).
On October 16, 2021 Jennifer Gates, daughter of Bill and Melinda Gates, tied the knot with equestrian and Olympic athlete Nayel Nassar. The couple bonded over their love of riding, so it only made sense that their wedding, planned by Marcy Blum Associates, was held at an equestrian farm in Westchester County, NY. Allan Zepeda Photography captured every detail of the celebration including the extravagant floral arrangements done by HMR Designs. For the reception, the couples chose a tented wedding and had their first dance to Yellow Lights by Harry Styles while literally dancing under yellow lights. This extravagant affair was one of our favorite celebrity celebrations of the year.
8. Sarah Levy & Graham Outerbridge’s Intimate Wedding

The Schitt’s Creek Star Sarah Levy secretly tied the knot with actor and producer Graham Outerbridge on October 16th, 2021. After dating for a little over three years, but never officially announcing their engagement, the two got married at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood with close friends and family. The gorgeous bride wore a stunning strapless, white silk midi dress with a bow on the back. Levy continues to keep details of the ceremony and reception a secret, besides a few taser photos, but this surprise wedding was still a must-add.
The engagement that took over our Instagrams. Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker proposed to reality star Kourtney Kardashian with the most dreamy red rose set up in Montecito, CA. The couple, also known as “Kravis,” started dating in December of 2020 and has flooded our social media with their undeniable love ever since. Barker proposed at sunset with a show-stopping display of red roses. After the proposal, the two enjoyed a private dinner with close friends and family. Kravis both commented “forever” on each other’s Instagram and this is a wedding we will be impatiently awaiting.
Selling Sunset star Heather Rae Young and Flip or Flop host Tarek El Moussa solidified their love after a 14 month long engagement in Montecito, CA with 150 of their friends and family. Duke Images was there to capture every stunning detail of the day. The ceremony took place outside at the Seaside Hotel with a 100 foot-long, glossy black aisle that was lined with a mix of all-white roses, orchids, tulips, lisianthus and hydrangeas. They had a large floral arch at the beginning of the aisle and three arches intertwined at the altar. Tarek had an extra surprise after the couple said “I Do”, he had an airplane spell out “To my wife, always and forever” with environmentally safe smoke. We look forward to seeing more behind-the-scenes details in the upcoming season of Selling Sunset.
Pakistan activist and youngest-ever Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Malala Yousafzai, married asser Mailk, a manager of the Pakistan Cricket Board. The two wed on a Tuesday, a little over nine years after she was shot in the head as a teenager by the Taliban. The two had a traditional Nikkah ceremony at her home in Birmingham, England with only their families. Yousafzai is one of the world’s most famous advocates for girl’s education and continues to inspire women everywhere. She is choosing to keep the details of her day more private, but we know she chose fall colors for her floral and opted in for a pink wedding dress.

Paris Hilton had the wedding of the year and we expected nothing less. Hotel Heiress and Socialite Paris Hilton married author, entrepreneur, and venture capitalist Carter Reum during a three day long celebration at Hilton’s late grandfather Barron’s estate in Bel Air. Hilton was set on solidifying their love on November 11th, to have the date be 11.11, she walked down the aisle to Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”
The affair boasted celebrity guests, a large dinner menu, and, of course, multiple dress changes. Demi Lovato performed a rendition of “I Will Always Love You” at the reception and received a standing ovation. The couple continued with a three-day-long celebration and it was definitely the socialite celebration of the year.
If you have an Instagram account, chances are you follow an influencer or two (or ten). From athletes to bloggers and reality TV stars, influencers come with all different backgrounds, hobbies, and skill sets. The one thing they do have in common? Their ability to quite literally influence our decisions. From what brands to buy from, to how to decorate our homes, it’s hard to ignore the power that influencers have obtained through the rise of social media.

You may know Caila Quinn from her time on Ben Higgins’ season of The Bachelor, or maybe from her half a million Instagram followers — regardless, there’s no denying the social media influence of her 2021 wedding.
Caila and her fiancé Nick brought their dream of a European celebration to the states. Their glistening, oceanfront ceremony was framed by a muted blush and orange rose altar, with a stone-patterned aisle whisking guests to the Mediterranean. The couple ensured Caila’s Filipino culture was honored with a traditional cord and veil ceremony, which took place before their highly anticipated “I dos.”
As the host of E News’ The Rundown, it’s safe to say that Erin Lim has not only become our go-to source for pop culture, but she has become a pop culture influencer in her own right. A few months after hosting a micro wedding in her parent’s backyard, Erin and Joshua announced they were expecting.
The fun-loving newlywed’s baby shower was everything we expected it to be (and more). Plush white clouds were suspended across the backyard, along with daisy-filled balloon installations, butterfly-adorned murals, and a rubber duck-filled pool.
Like many couples on this list, Olivia Rink and her now-husband Conner Hempel’s original wedding plans were thrown for a loop when COVID-19 entered the picture. After a postponement and city change, the duo said “I do” in Olivia’s hometown of South Bend, Indiana.
The couple used their joint love for Frank Sinatra and Gatsby-era glam as inspiration while planning the ballroom wedding of their dreams. A glossy wood dance floor, elegant overhead chandelier, luxe gold table details, and candle-lined centerpieces were just a few of their transformative reception details.

The Bachelor’s Ben Higgins may have an ex on this list; but as far as we’re concerned, it’s been Jessica Clarke and him from the start. The duo doesn’t shy away from sharing their love for each other on Instagram — and after planning their wedding for two years, the build up only got greater.
Ben and Jess exchanged vows on a brisk fall day in Nashville. Their Southern celebration included a Bourbon bar, milk and cookie station, and a pontoon boat exit. Of all the noteworthy elements, the newlyweds gushed over their wedding planner and wedding band on Instagram, saying they made all of their party dreams come true.
The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise breakout star Hannah Godwin took on a new business venture, leveraging her own Instagram skills. Hannah launched a photo filtering and editing app in October, and the launch party itself is what got it on our radar.
The al fresco dinner party was posted all over social media — and for good reason. Guests entered a Los Angeles courtyard to find branded cocktails, a pampas grass photo op, and Setty app-inspired menus. The Bachelor Nation-filled guest list didn’t hurt the event’s exposure, either.
Despite Derek Fisher’s impressive NBA career, and current WNBA coaching status, his now wife Gloria Govan is the bigger Instagram influencer in the marriage. Between the two of them, their half a million Instagram followers were treated to several details from their West Coast wedding day.
The couple exchanged vows between a trendy asymmetrical floral arch, with sweeping Malibu mountain views as the backdrop. Gloria’s white orchid bouquet perfectly complemented the midsummer ceremony’s crisp white roses and soft greenery.
Emily Herren, better known to her Instagram following as Champagne and Chanel, is Instagram royalty — and her extravagant Southern wedding proved it. Followers eagerly awaited photos from her wedding, and no one was disappointed (according to the thousands of comments on her first-released wedding photo).
The October wedding was filled with glam details, from a cascading floral arch entryway to the ceremony’s ethereal floral trees. The clear tented reception was illuminated by an array of chandeliers, rows of strung lights, and scattered candle votives. Emily and Travis couldn’t forget their four-legged family members, posing with their beloved dogs for the ultimate Instagram-worthy moment.
40 never looked so good, thanks to The Stripe blogger Grace Atwood. Grace treated her followers to two carousels of Instagram photos from her intimate birthday party — and there was nothing small about it.
The party’s 1920s theme was perfectly evoked by the restaurant venue’s checkered floors and moody walls. Satin black table linen, mulberry velvet seats, white orchids, and Champagne glass towers lined the dinner table. Guests showed up in true Gatsby style, with feather boas, top hats, and enough sequins to take you back in time.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards needs no introduction. Her daughter Portia’s circus-inspired Bat Mitzvah took the popular theme and made it completely original. The evening included fire-breathing bartenders (yes, you read that right), a rainbow Ferris wheel, and plenty of performances throughout.
Now let’s talk décor. From the custom entryway to the chic circus tent, there was an element to marvel over at every turn. The party kept things luxurious yet youthful with gold balloon installations and a checkered dance floor. Deep red lighting grazed every inch of the reality star’s backyard, transporting guests out of Beverly Hills and into a scene from The Greatest Showman.
Model, actress, and influencer Molly Sims celebrated 10 years of marriage on a beautiful September evening. Her family dressed to the nines for the al fresco dinner party, and we love how the couple kept it classic with a personalized edge.
The setting was the perfect combination of boho and glam. Woven chandeliers intertwined with strung globe lights, which were suspended in rows above sleek wooden tables. Simple floral arrangements mingled with hundreds of candles to illuminate the dining space, while lounge areas were accessorized by cozy throw blankets (ensuring guest comfort all night long).
Madi Prew may not have found love on The Bachelor, but she certainly found a close group of friends to celebrate life’s milestones with her. Her joint 25th-birthday lunch was an influencer’s dream, with photo ops at every turn (and natural light you can’t get at a birthday dinner).
The dreamy yet intimate picnic was backed by oversized marquee signage and chic balloon arrangements made of soft yellows and earthy neutrals. A blush table runner, feminine florals, and of course, an epic charcuterie board topped off the aesthetically pleasing party.
If you’re reading this article you’re probably familiar with Arielle Charnas, who leveraged her 1.3 million Instagram followers to launch the clothing brand Something Navy. As a business woman and creative thinker, it’s no surprise that Something Navy’s October clothing launch made the list.
The “Something Cozy” luncheon featured branded coffee cups, a blanket for each guest on par with the collection’s style, and a mulled wine station (what could be cozier?). The rustic setting was decorated with mini pumpkins, pampas grass, and rustic centerpieces to set the fall scene.

From the single-stemmed roses that lined their ceremony aisle, to the thousands of mini string lights that hovered over their reception, influencers Taylor Phillips and Jeff O’Donnell did the impossible and made the woods glam.
The day’s Instagrammable moments included the grooms’ dog strutting down their outdoor aisle and a petal-strewn ceremony exit. At the reception, a black and white patterned dance floor perfectly complemented the baby’s breath centerpieces and modern black candelabras. All that to say this enchanted forest wedding day had our team swooning from the moment we laid eyes on it.
Cella Jane has won over her followers’ hearts with relatable content, helpful guides, and of course, creative inspiration. She celebrated her son’s 1st birthday with a “puppy pawty” theme — and we can’t think of a cuter combination.
The at-home event included a dog house-inspired high chair, chic balloon installations, and a water bowl-inspired cake. For the adults in attendance, an over-the-top grazing board was filled with meats and cheeses to indulge in, as guests snapped photos for their own Instagram followers.
Los Angeles-based influencers Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Ireland are no strangers to making a statement. Their company, Summer Fridays, has become a well-known name in the beauty industry. With recyclable packaging, cruelty-free testing, and vegan ingredients, what’s not to love?
The duo launched Summer Fridays’ new lip balms: Vegan Vanilla and Vanilla Beige, with a soft serve ice cream truck. The branded truck was adorned by florals in their company colors, and the creative marketing efforts had customers posing in front of (and posting) the pop up all day long.
With nearly one million Instagram followers, Mary Lawless Lee decided to use her platform to create a brand she felt was important for women. Her vegan and natural skincare line nēmah was created for expecting mothers, with the tagline: Made by Moms, Tested by Moms.
The launch of her brand, a celebration two years in the making, was filled with warm and thoughtful touches. The dinner party featured a dusty rose palette, a centerpiece filled with flickering candle sticks, and clouds of chic dried floral arrangements. From there, “Look at every single detail of the environment to determine if it could be branded and how.” For example, if your product is a beauty line, consider branding self-care apparel like sleep masks, vanity mirrors, etc.
However, quality is more important than quantity. “As much as clients love to see their brand everywhere, too many logos can take away from your event design,” Conversate Collective cautions.

Use dramatic architectural details to elevate your brand. In this case, light projections brought Lavish Event Rentals to new heights (literally) with the help of the site-specific installation “Elastika.” Of course, that was just the beginning. Keeping an eye on events allows us to accurately predict what’s new and noteworthy in the world of weddings, kids’ birthdays and milestone birthday parties, corporate events, and more. 1. Cloudy With a Chance of Baby’s Breath
Baby’s breath has made our list before. Way back in our wedding and party trend guide for 2020 we predicted that the under-utilized and over-looked filler flower was going to move to center stage. We were right.
Now the tiny ethereal blooms have moved overhead, and in rich color. Wispy baby’s breath has extended its fifteen minutes by being versatile. Savvy party hosts are opting for floating florals in ethereal hues.

After a beach-side ceremony set against the backdrop of the setting sun, this celebration moved inside to enjoy sunset all over again.
But, this time Mother’s Nature’s beauty arrived in the form of delicate pink baby’s breath spun into cloud-like installations and whimsical spirals. Buoyant blooms will surprise and delight your guests.
Planner, Tara Fay of Tara Fay Events, says, “This glass orangery-style tent featured clouds constructed from pink gypsophilia [genus of baby’s breath] that the guests dined under, before dancing the night away in a hidden nightclub.”
These puffs of pink clouds look dreamy during the day and night, drawing eyes upwards to the heavens. We also love how the hue is drawn down to the tabletops with tall pink tapered candles.
This stunning southern wedding proves that when it comes to whimsical clouds of baby’s breath, you don’t need to narrow your palette to a single hue. In fact, these dreamy installations do a wonderful job of tying together the palette of the entire room; they are the element that creates a cohesive (and beautiful design statement).

But now we’re seeing adherence to single type of flower as well. We’re calling this trend “mono-floral” as we worship at the altar of its beauty. Visualize an aisle flanked with the same flower type (in the same color) over and over again, building to a dramatic blooming arch. Envision a tabletop adorned with a repeating flower in interesting shapes as far as the eye can see, conjuring a single, magnificent vision. Something we love about green glassware is how flexible it is, elevating wedding styles from boho to modern.

This time, we’re applauding the rainbow-themed party for its creative catering. We especially love the divine edible diamond-like rings.
When we talk about unique weddings, this over-the-top (in the best way possible) wedding is what we mean. The celebration boasts thousands of colorful florals and beautiful butterfly details.
And the catering? Well, you need to see it to believe the spread these lucky guests enjoyed. One of the hors d’oeuvres that wowed us are these edible rings topped with celebratory caviar.
It’s not new to see significant numbers displayed at parties. New Year’s Eve invariably features the incoming year on everything from novelty glasses to the photo spot. Birthday parties often have the milestone number on the cake and on printed materials like cocktail napkins.

Friends and family at this celebration were there to celebrate a milestone 40th birthday (they thought). The fastest-growing social media app, TikTok, has danced its way into the coolest parties. We’ve seen it thousands of times: an entertainment stage rising above the dance floor. However, placing your band in the middle (and on the same level as) your celebration makes the music feel less like a performance and more of an immersive activity.

Typical party hosts want to avoid bad weather on their big event day — and this Bat Mitzvah girl brought it inside. This legendary lightning-themed party made a rainy day glam with glitter-dripping clouds and a thunderstruck ballroom. The party’s dance floor was at the focal point of a whirlwind of color and AV effects, which had guests singing in the faux rain, and dancing in the clouded moonlight.

Arguably, the cutest (and most creative) take on a golf theme we’ve seen, this first “par-tee” mastered the details. Guests were treated to golf ball cake pops, caddy cookies, and a course-inspired birthday cake. On top of all the edible additions, guests were greeted by a hole-in-one photo op, custom golf balls, and a mini golf course (perfect for the mini guests in attendance).
Keep your passports at home. We’ve seen our fair share of travel-themed events: cue the airport-inspired check-ins and flight attendant-outfitted staff. But honing in on one specific country and taking guests through a progressive dinner party tour is a new twist we couldn’t skip.

If chemistry wasn’t your favorite subject, it will be now. This Bar Mitzvah was all about the elements from chemical-derived table numbers and place card logos to test tube mocktails and formula-driven menus.
The periodic table-themed party took science class to a new level with lab-inspired centerpieces, lab coat-outfitted servers, and so much more.
