What makes a good wedding centerpiece?
A good wedding centerpiece is, most importantly, one that you love, but also one that creates interest. Height, texture, and color can create that interest. Adding in things like candles, different types of florals, and greenery can also help add dimension to your tablescape.

The experts agree: Corporate summits in 2022 must adapt to the changing times. PartySlate asked four experienced corporate planners and event professionals for insight into upcoming conference trends. With a continued focus on safety precautions, and a renewed interest in guest experience, summits will reach new creative heights.
Tori Soper, Owner and Lead Photographer of Tori Soper Photography, tells us, “The most well-produced and successful events take every opportunity to collect feedback from attendees and event partners.” Corporate hosts and vendors are listening and growing — with wow-worthy results. Keep reading to discover what’s in store for 2022. It’s time to gather, collaborate, and achieve new goals.
1. Renewed Attention to the Attendee’s Experience
Soper of Tori Soper Photography, tells us, “Over the past year, as some corporate conferences have returned to in-person events, I have seen a renewed concentration on the attendees’ experience — including more time in between sessions for networking, comfortable spaces for lounging, and private areas for networking.”
Kristin Quinn, Chief Growth Officer of Gravel Experiential, adds, “We will need to continue to focus on the purpose of the event and ensure attendees are getting the most out of the time spent there. Think smaller, more personalized interactions that focus on bringing people and teams together in meaningful ways.”
Rachel Axelrod, Founder of Axelrod Consulting, agrees. “For ‘in-person’ corporate summits, they will be much more intimate, likely organized by smaller groups (i.e., by department or by office location).”

Time in Between Sessions for Networking
Expect more breakout sessions for networking. These sessions are not only beneficial for fostering new and on-going relationships, but they also reduce burn-out mode by giving attendees small breaks throughout the day.
Rethink networking areas with ultra-comfy seating that invites guests to linger over conversations. Moreover, break-out lounge areas create a networking space that is solely devoted to community and forging stronger relationships.
With a new focus on the guest experience, summits are getting smaller. Micro retreats are increasingly popular, as they create new opportunities for guest engagement. Expect immersive activities that range from team-building exercises to pure recreation. With smaller guest counts, it’s also easier to elevate swag. Instead of name tag necklaces and branded water bottles, think curated gift boxes and thoughtful merchandise.
Axelrod of Axelrod Consulting, shares, “Depending on how strict the company’s COVID-19 protocols are, protective measures will become the norm. For instance, mask wearing is not going away any time soon, especially given the highly contagious Omicron variant. Other stricter requirements — such as on-site testing, showing vaccine cards, and outdoor options — will become standard.”

With an aim to keep guests safe, summits and conferences are taking catering stations outdoors. Oona Murley, Special Events Marketing Coordinator for New-York Historical Society, shares, “We’ve recently seen corporations hosting their conferences in our building, but making great use of our Outdoor Courtyard, and taking boxed lunches to our neighboring Central Park.”

Weather-Proof Tenting
Come or rain shine, tented spaces offer a beautiful space for outdoor dining. Best of all, tenting offers unique opportunities for branding and on-theme décor.
Depending on season and location, conferences may embrace full-on al fresco dining options. After all, well-fed guests are happy guests. We also love how these tables double as workspaces at this micro-retreat.
Quinn of Gravel Experiential, says, “Corporate events will have to remain flexible in 2022 and beyond. Events will require continued flexibility from the planners, clients, vendors, and venues. We will need to continue to offer in-person and remote options for attendees without losing sight of the purpose and strategic vision for the event.”
But that’s not all. Axelrod of Axelrod Consulting assures us, “Organizers will need to be much more creative to combat the burnout most people feel from the overload of Zoom conferences that we have all endured over the last two years. For example, event boxes delivered to attendees’ homes will need to be “over the top” to impress and inspire people to forget they are in sweatpants watching a screen and not interacting with clients and co-workers.”

Virtual Options With New Technologies
Hybrid and virtual events require new skill sets that draw heavily on technology and communication. In addition to acquiring a knowledgeable A/V and tech team, it’s essential to enlist the help of an experienced event production firm. The right vendors will ensure your virtual event is successful on all fronts.
Joining a Zoom call will never be the same as connecting at an in-person event. In an effort to make guests feel both appreciated and engaged, send them curated event boxes with thoughtful favors. This is also a great opportunity for creative branding.
With 15 events over 4 days, the Ribbit SiFi Summit wowed from start to finish. Guests were engaged pre-event with pre-mailed attendee booklets, custom hotel key cards, and branded property maps. We also love how the conference embraced a nature and wellness theme throughout the microsite, featuring a celebrity yoga trainer, cycling, bootcamp, and more.
We love how this bareMinerals Regional Conference celebrated sustainability with reusable lunch boxes, organic snacks, and natural rock seat assignments. Best of all, bareMinerals partnered with Repeat Roses in an effort to give back. All of the florals from the ‘flower market’ photo op were repurposed into 13 arrangements. They were then sent to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge Jerome L. Greene Family Center to further spread joy. Sustainable corporate practices have never looked so beautiful.
You can expect a media company that aims to “close the gap between what people want and what brands need” to throw an epic corporate summit. Every aspect of this Starcom summit inspires us with its creative designs. Even waiting in line becomes an immersive experience with vibrant lighting and dazzling décor. We especially love how the giant space features unique vignettes for a greater sense of intimacy while networking.
Unlike a conference, corporate summits are reserved for top-level executives within an industry. Summits often last for several days — with keynote speakers, networking opportunities, breakout sessions, and immersive entertainment.
How do you organize a business summit?
Because summits require extensive organization and planning, we highly recommend enlisting the help of a corporate planner or event agency. Your planner will not only curate an engaging experience, but will also handle logistics such as accommodations, catering, and event flow.

With the arrival of your little one, a brand new adventure awaits. So, of course, a jungle theme baby shower is the perfect way to kick off the trip of a lifetime.
With so many creative baby shower themes available, it’s not always easy to know where to start. But there’s a reason parents love a jungle or safari baby shower theme. This engaging party theme always results in original décor, activities, and catering.
We’ve looked through hundreds of real baby showers on PartySlate to find our favorite jungle theme baby shower ideas. Whether your style is upscale and glamorous or fun and whimsical, you’re certain to find the perfect fit. While all eyes might be on the future, the present has never been more exciting (or photo-worthy).
1. Jungle Glam Baby Shower
No need to “rough it” with a jungle theme. Go with bold colors, glittering textures, and lots of iridescent fringe for an ultra-glam celebration that will have everyone swooning — including your photographer.
A safari-inspired baby shower gets an elevated look with glittery gold details that include everything from gilt monstera leaves to miniature giraffe centerpieces. Even dessert can rival the finest wedding cake with a golden sheen.

Give your safari theme baby shower a feminine vibe with ample floral décor in warm hues like apricot, persimmon, and cream. We love how green glassware, a 2022 party trend, is mixed with animal figures for an elevated (yet playful) tablescape.
photographer: Amy & Stuart Photography | Alyson Fox, Levine Fox Events
Head to the African savanna with bright giraffe-patterned tablescapes and a giraffe-styled cake. Guests will especially love receiving snacks topped with gold-dipped animal figurines.
Start your kid’s love for literature before they even arrive with The Jungle Book baby shower theme. Miniature cakes, topped with some of our favorite The Jungle Book characters, are almost too cute to eat. We especially love how cascades of orange and green balloons, mixed with greenery, recreate the bold colors you’ll find in the jungle.
photographer: J Lauryn Photography | The Velvet Collection
How do you celebrate your future arrival while keeping the celebration adult-friendly? We recommend elevated décor in green and gold. A Champagne boxwood backdrop perfectly complements the more whimsical signage of gold balloons and organic vines. The result: a baby shower that both kids and adults will love.
Looking for a jungle adventure with all the comforts of home? We love a pretty-in-pink safari baby shower with bright pink floral arrangements and balloon cascades. Even a jungle-theme baby shower cake is sweet-as-can-be with pink icing and stuffed animal-style toppers.

I’ve always been partial to unconventional style. Now, after reviewing hundreds of beautiful images of real bohemian weddings on PartySlate, I know exactly how to translate that free-spirited vibe into a beautiful boho wedding. I’m sharing what I’ve learned here.
For example, white pole tents (which feature carnival-like peaks) are totally on trend for bohemian bashes right now. Another fact: nature inspires just about every element of a boho wedding. Think lush ferns and palms, neutral pampas grass, delicate baby’s breath, hearty succulents, and long lengths of driftwood.
I’ve also discovered that an eclectic bohemian sensibility often combines other styles — for a unique celebration that can be all you. In the events below, you’ll find weddings that have been described as: tropical boho, modern boho, bohemian mountain, rustic boho, bohemian desert, boho industrial, boho glam, and more.
The takeaway? If you can dream it, you can create it.
I’m here to help. Share my 16-step checklist with your wedding planner to incorporate your chic, flower-child style into every detail of your boho wedding.

Click to see the creative color combo that made a chic statement (and that you’ll want to copy).
First of all, “boho” is a shortened term for “bohemian.” The term evokes a free-spirited mindset, a person at one with nature who follows their own rules. When you apply this thinking to a wedding, it results in a wonderfully unique vision full of natural elements and very personal touches.
Boho weddings tend be outside, full of greenery and flowers, and less rigid décor elements than other wedding styles. For example, a boho wedding reception table will likely feature an eclectic array of design details. Think vintage (perhaps mismatched china) colored stemware, wildflowers, different types of candles, all-natural linen, and lots.
A bohemian wedding lounge area will feature a variety of seating options — from bamboo chairs to leather Moroccan poufs, velvet couches to cozy colorful loveseats. What we most appreciate about boho weddings is the relaxed style which often makes way for a more relaxed, fun-filled celebration full of laughter and love.

Planning your quinceañera starts with choosing your quinceañera colors. This important first step will determine the overall look and feel of your celebration.
PartySlate reached out to Dee Lee, luxury quinceañera planner of Dee Lee Designs, to learn more about how she helps clients find their magic color combination. She tells us, “Some like to go with what’s trending, and sometimes it’s based solely on a favorite color.”
Dee Lee also shares that many girls will gravitate towards a specific theme — with its own matching color palette. Certain quinceañera themes and colors always go together. For example, “If they pick a Cinderella theme, they would choose baby-blue hues with either a silver or gold accent.”
We’ve rounded up some of our favorite quinceañeras on PartySlate to find trending and classic color combinations — often with a theme to match. Discover 8 stunning quinceañera color palettes for your upcoming celebration. Your perfect party starts with the perfect color.

“Rose-gold has been a recurring popular color trend in the quinceañera market for the last few years,” Lee of Dee Lee Designs tells us. “To this day, it is trending as one of my top pins on Pinterest. What began as a rainbow-themed quince turned all-pink after dark. Hot pink uplighting transformed everything from the walls to the dance floor into a vibrant pink nightclub. Make sure to see how the rainbow theme made a late-night comeback with a dramatic confetti drop.
Step into an all-pink world with hot pink uplighting and stunning orchid centerpieces. Best of all, uplighting allows you to change your quinceañera themes and colors mid-party. See how this gorgeous quince went from pink to purple in a matter of seconds.
We love how this theater-themed quince captures the elegance of Broadway with luxe red drapery and golden fixtures. The quinceañera is the star of the show in her red dress with gold sequins. Make sure to see how the color theme continues with glittery gold reception tables and bright red place settings.
Paris is known for elegance and style. Capture the mood of this elegant city with a sophisticated color palette of red and gold — with some sparkle thrown in the mix. Make sure to also see how the dance floor featured The Eiffel Tower in elegant gold hues.

Pastel pinks, blues, and violets go perfectly with a boho theme. Add a little glamor to the softer tones with some metallic shades thrown in. See how bright pink metallic balloons pop against dyed pampas grass and a muted pink backdrop. We can’t imagine a more stunning photo op for a quinceañera.

Taylor Swift Quinceañera Theme
Rockville, MD
True, “The haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate…” But everyone will love a Taylor Swift quince theme with cheerful pastel colors. Pinks, blues, lavenders, and sunny yellows make an appearance on everything from the quinceañera cake to the cascading balloon arch. Make sure to take a look.
Vibrant orange and yellow hues with a flare of tropical green make a colorful backdrop for funky geometric installations and neon lighting. Make sure to see how each reception table features a different type of centerpiece. We especially love the multi-colored one at the head table.
Not every tropical setting requires a beach. Bring paradise to you with a tropical sunset color palette of peach, gold, and pink. We especially love how creative palm tree lighting brings a golden glow to the lush palm tree centerpieces.
Beautiful pink and purple floral centerpieces are just a small detail of this elegant pink celebration. Discover other wow-worthy details such as an overarching floral entryway, ivy-covered drapery, and flower-decked dance floor.
This white tented quince felt like a summer garden with trailing greenery and cream and pink roses. Make sure to discover other dreamy garden details such as pink floral cake pops and a floral-crowned chandelier.
This quinceañera changed colors and backdrops like the twist of a kaleidoscope. However, our favorite scenes and colors captured the Art Deco glamour of the 1920s. Make sure to see how gold fan-patterned lighting shifts to cascades of pure gold glitter.
A gold quinceañera dress pairs beautifully with glamorous gold décor and copper-hued backdrops. Make sure to see how a golden, seven-tiered cake and aerialists in golden costumes added to the surrounding glow.
The traditional color of a quinceañera dress will depend on the celebrant’s culture and heritage. In the United States, white quince dresses were once very popular, as they were thought to represent purity and innocence.
Nowadays, you’ll find quinceañera dresses in all colors. In fact, your quince dress may determine the colors for your celebration as a whole. Talk with your event planner to decide which color best suits your personality and style.

Don’t forget to check out PartySlate for all of your party-planning needs. Whether you’re looking to connect with venues and vendors or to simply find inspiration, PartySlate is here to help you celebrate in style. Let’s raise a glass (filled with a creative mocktail) to toast to a New Year of celebrating together.
Not Just Accommodation, But an Experience
More and more, party hosts are realizing that complex and delectable dishes can be made without a meat main course. Rather than having special options for vegans, vegetarians, and those who don’t drink alcohol, these options are being thoughtfully (and deliciously) integrated into menus for everyone.
1. An Increase in Flexitarian & Vegetarian-Focused Options
The seasonal nature of produce means that eating by season is the freshest way to serve your guests. Paramount Events makes beautiful use of nature’s bounty with this squash and lentil dish that is guaranteed to delight fall guests.
photographer: Anna Zajac Photography | caterer: LM Catering
Lauren Hammond of the top catering team at LM Catering, shares, “Our sales team has seen a huge uptick in clients looking to focus on plant-based menus. They no longer want to only offer a single item but instead are interested in full vegetarian/vegan menus.” Their vegetarian risotto (at left) is a popular dish, even with carnivores.
Forward-thinking Abigail Kirsch Catering gave sushi a vegan makeover with butternut squash, beet, and cucumber pieces atop sesame quinoa sushi rice for an elegant, colorful, and healthy bite.
Naked Fig Catering, a recently-launched brand from Marcia Selden Catering & Events in partnership with Matthew Kenney Cuisine, is well-positioned to serve up this veggie-leaning trend (that we predict will last a long time). They specialize in luxurious plant-based cuisine, with fare that is delectable while also boosting immunity, impacting beauty, longevity, and more.
This springtime brunch featured bright and creative mocktails from Whoa Nelly Catering with fine ingredients like fresh lime juice and hibiscus syrup. All ages were able to enjoy the delicate creation.
Emma Nalbone of Paramount Events shares that she’s seeing a rise in curated non-alcoholic cocktails as well. Fresh, well-designed sips sans alcohol have become more than an accommodation, but a preference for many who would like a curated cocktail minus the hangover.
We all love a dish that reminds us of happy times — even while we are actually experiencing one of those happy times. Savvy caterers are finding ways to offer us a taste of home, but better. Robin Selden of iconic New York caterer, Marcia Selden Catering & Events, shares, “We’ve enjoyed putting a spin on and elevating some really old time comfort foods. They are nostalgic, make people smile, evoke some serious memories and are really comforting and delicious.”
Selden of Marcia Selden Catering & Events, says, “Our clients are looking for really fun interpretations of classics.” At this Love Shack-themed party, the team not only created crave-worthy fare from the 70s, but also wowed with creative and nostalgic packaging.
Chef Billy G knows that food that evokes emotion makes an event more memorable. He paired fried chicken and waffles for a classic dish that’s also fun.
Diane Gordon Catering created a new, yet classic, hors d’oeuvre with one-bite spaghetti and meatball for their “Better Together” event with Lenox China. The menu furthered the theme of pairings with prosciutto and figs, pear and pecorino, and of course, tomato and basil.
Continuing the elevated comfort food trend, Added Touch Catering refashioned Beef Wellington into perfectly-portioned bites — not an easy feat with a complicated dish involving pâté, duxelles, and puff pastry.
Amazing Edibles Catering brought the taste of home (but better) with mom-classic mini grilled cheese and tomato soup. And this is the first time we’ve seen one-bite pie ala mode, and we are wowed.
In addition to reteaching us all how to wash our hands (don’t forget to sing “Happy Birthday” twice), the global pandemic has increased our vigilance toward safe service. Buffetts are on a break while caterers continue to conceive instant-classic solutions to our new situation. Kayla Castellano with top New York-based caterer CxRA says, “We have been continuing to receive requests for individually-packaged, elegant small bites from our clients who are hosting events during this time.”
Castellano of CxRA says, “These new packaging options make items easy to see for the guests and they can enjoy in comfort, knowing that their individual platter has been served exclusively to them. With the additional focus on our environment, we are also able to source eco-friendly options for these individual platters.”
This cool outdoor corporate event features several on-trend dishes and displays from 24 Carrots Catering and Events. We love the clever display and packaging of these mussels with crispy French bread.
Creative Edge Parties never fails to delight, with both their delectable dishes and their unique presentation. We love this clever answer to the question of safe service.
A party isn’t a party without a sweet treat, and Cottura Catering & Events ensured that guests were also delighted by their sweet safety measures: chic glass domes and mini cake stands.
For 2022, decades and locale party theming are on the rise. While the 20s are still fun for the 2020s, they’re definitely taking a backseat to 90s and 80s party themes. And when it comes to fun themes that transport guests through clever details, say aloha to Hawaii (in the way that means hello, not goodbye).
9. Party-Perfect Polynesian
photographer: Alexis El Massih | florals: Orly Khon Floral | venue: The Tannery Loft by Kadeema, Norwood, MA | caterer: Capers Catering
Capers Catering curated a beautifully tropical food and cocktail vision that channeled “Mad Men” and “Trader Vic’s” for this themed wedding. We are tikied-pink over those clever cocktail glasses.
This Hawaiian-themed dinner party wowed with fresh island dishes and drinks from the team at Good Gracious! Events. Every dish popped with color and flavor and gave guests a taste of paradise.
This “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” themed birthday party conjured the 80s with cool decade detail. Neon hues and graphic patterns were a feast for the eyes and Sensory Delights Catering made them into a literal feast for nostalgic guests.
Food For Thought was the perfect creative caterer for this 80s theme birthday party that featured cheeky song/food combos and that guests enjoyed under a ceiling of slinkies and disco balls.
Buffets and similar spreads have been slower to return to gatherings. Instead, we’re continuing to see creative solutions to handheld fare. Enter cones and cups as convenient and chic holders for crudité and charcuterie.
With such a floral-filled and butterfly-alighted affair, the food has to be really special and Good Gracious! Events delivered (as always) with elegant, garden-inspired fare like these crudité cups.
This gorgeous pale green and rose-colored Bat Mitzvah luncheon drew inspiration from its lush outdoor setting with handheld cones of fresh fruit, cheese, and flatbread from Whoa Nelly Catering.
Ever-creative Limelight Catering conjured not only delicious charcuterie cones, but also a chic hanging brass display, doing what good food should aways do: surprise and delight.
Mary Kline of Wolfgang Puck Catering (in Houston, Dallas, San Francisco, Los Angeles) shared a recent catering customization from her team that perfectly captures how a talented caterer can bring additional meaning to an event: “We created custom ‘His & Hers’ drinks related to the couple’s first dance song.” In this case, the mash-up meant “Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton” paired with a “Boulevardier” drink for Him and “Sweet as Strawberry Wine” was Hers.
Elaborate ice sculptures at events aren’t new, but we’re enjoying this new personalized approach to ice from OKAMOTO STUDIO Custom Ice. In this case, the initials in the rocks keeping cocktails cold reminds guests that they are there to celebrate a corporate anniversary for an event visionary.
Everyone always gathers at the bar, so it only makes sense to have the making of cocktails serve as entertainment as well as service for a tasty bite. We’re seeing lots of memorable bar performance moments with interactive elements (think: aromatic bubbles that the guest gets to pop) and garnishes that are actually appetizers.
Paramount Events tells us that they’re creating more “cocktail toppers” — bites that marry the flavors of the cocktails they sit atop perfectly with the sip. The team also sent over a photo of an apple cider slushie with a cider donut topper that has us dreaming of fall.
Euphoria Bar Services conjures cocktails that appeal to multiple senses at once, like this custom recipe the call “Dumb Luck.” Guests get to open the cocktail’s glass case to release aromatic smoke that starts creating a flavor profile before they even take a first sip.
This Seven Deadly Sins-themed dinner was the perfect place for Cocktail + Creative to show off an evolving cocktail — one that steeps like tea in a mix of herbs, fruit, etc., changing flavor as it goes. We predict that we will see more of these, as each sip is slightly different than the last, giving guests a unique experience.

Lauren Eck with renowned Wolfgang Puck Catering in Houston and Dallas, tells us, “For beverage, a current trend that we’re seeing is associated with the surge in interest for Topo Chico and the shortage that the country is experiencing. In the Texas market, ‘Ranch Water’ was a popular cocktail in 2021 and I anticipate the trend will continue into 2022. We have worked to do a seasonal play on the cocktail using seasonal fruit or take a classic drink like a Moscow Mule that is not a current trend and use those flavors to create a ‘Ranch Mule’ using ginger syrup, tequila and lime Topo Chico.” The Mezcal Rancholoma at left is another creative creation from the team.
Bubbly has never gone out of style when it comes to celebrating — but the way we serve Champagne has changed over time. Over the past few years, entire greenery walls filled with glasses of the gold stuff were popular (sometimes even with hands holding the stems of the glasses). But now we’re seeing a recalling of the classic Champagne tower as well as new versions of the Champagne wall. The important thing is, we’re still toasting to our good times together.
The talented team at Marcia Selden Catering & Events shared this trend with Robin Selden commenting, “We are also seeing over-the-top jaw-dropping, surprise and delight moments that are exciting and evoke a lot of happiness (in addition to a LOT of Instagram stories)! Here is one of our faves that we’ve been doing a lot: The Champagne Tower.”
Liz Shockley from the always-creative team at Sage Catering says of this room-centering display, “We’ve seen Champagne walls in different shapes and sizes, and they are all beautiful. This is one of the more interesting ways that we have seen the display.”
Knight’s Catering & Events shares that “interactive stations” are on-trend for 2022. At PartySlate, we’re also seeing more creative displays and service.
21. Catering Displays That Fit in On the Dance Floor

A catering display doesn’t get more interactive than this tiered long tray-turned-limbo stick. We love the tray’s stacked vibe as well as the vibrant uniformity of the bites. This stunning corporate anniversary exhibited trends galore from multiple catering teams, including Pinch Food Design for the design pictured.
Kabrel Geller of the charcuterie magic-makers at This Messy Table LA, reminds us, “Once people are in the door, life is back to normal! Yes, events are smaller for now but guests lists are more curated and the celebration more intimate. The biggest trend I see for 2022 is gratitude for being together again.”
A tropical wedding isn’t all sand and surf. Even a stately ballroom can turn into your own stretch of paradise with the help of the right tropical wedding centerpieces.
Wedding centerpieces evoke the style and theme of your celebration. Moreover, they turn every tablescape into an instant photo op — so group table photos will still look curated and beautiful.
We’ve searched through hundreds of real tropical weddings on PartySlate to find our favorite tropical wedding centerpieces. From lavish palm leaves to hot pink orchids, these centerpieces will instantly transport you and your guests to your favorite tropical destination — with or without the beach.
1. Tropical Centerpieces With Bright Pops of Color
Tropical weddings can be formal or more relaxed. For example, a beach elopement will have a different vibe from a tropical-themed ballroom (flowy sundresses and collared shirts vs. tailored gowns and fitted tuxes). Look to the invitation and celebratory setting for guidance.
How do I have a tropical-themed wedding off the beach?
No tropical destination? No problem. You can still have a stunning tropical wedding without a palm tree in sight. Look beyond just wedding ideas to find creative tropical-themed décor and inspiration from birthdays, corporate events, and more. These tropical-theme party ideas bring paradise to you, even in the city. Make sure to work with a wedding planner and design team to create an authentic tropical aesthetic.

As a child, I spent hours crouched over a Candy Land board game. Otherwise dull afternoons became a race through the magical worlds of Candy Cane Forests and a Gumdrop Mountain — in the hopes of freeing King Candy from the villainous Lord Licorice. With so many generations raised on this iconic game, a Candy Land theme party is perfect for kids and adults alike. Even Kim and Kourtney Kardashian love this creative party theme and hosted a Candy Land-themed birthday party for their little girls.
We’ve searched through corporate events, birthday parties, and other milestones on PartySlate to find our favorite Candy Land theme party ideas. From decadent desserts to colorful decorations that recreate this sugar-sweetened landscape, here are 13 ways to make your celebration a confectioner’s dream — with help from some of the top party vendors in the industry, of course.
1. Candy Land Theme Map
Map out your venue with a winding track of colorful spaces — just like the iconic Candy Land board game. This way, guests will be sure to visit every catering and activity station (and enjoy the party in full).
Whether your seating is a throne fit for Queen Frostine or round back chairs covered in candy illustrations, guests will love dining in sugar-high style.
Turn your meal into an Instagrammable moment — regardless of what’s on the menu. Candy-themed centerpieces will keep even the little ones in their chairs, so the adults can happily linger over that last cup of coffee.
Waiting in line for a drink just became a lot more interesting.. Candy Land-themed bar areas become the center of the celebration with the aid of floating cotton candy installations and sugar-stacked shelving.

From Mr. Mint’s Candy Cane Forest to the Lord Licorice Castle, the world of Candy Land is filled with imaginative landscapes and architecture. Let this enchanting world inspire your catering stations for a food-forward fête that goes far beyond just candy.
A Candy Land party theme isn’t complete without — you guessed it — candy. Evoke the rainbow track leading through Candy Land with rainbow-colored sweets. With candy stations this stunning, we’d be happy to get stuck in Molasses Swamp for a few more roles of the dice.
Turn each layer of your party cake into a spot on the Candy Land map. Candy Cane Forest, Gumdrop Mountain, and Grandma Nutt’s peanut brittle house are just a few of our favorite places to indulge in a sweet treat.
Think beyond the band when it comes to entertainment. A Queen Frostine-themed oxygen booth is a perfect way to take a unique activity and make it part of this whimsical candy world. Other immersive entertainment ideas include acrobats, fortune tellers, live event painters, and more.
A Candy Land party theme isn’t complete without the one-of-a-kind characters you’ll find from start to finish. Cue the likes of Queen Frostine, King Kandy, and other lovable characters with Candy Land party outfits. Trust us, your photographer will thank you.
A Candy Land party is bound to have lots of delicious treats. Give guests the opportunity to bring their favorite sweets home with them in a custom-made swag bag.

Is there anything more beautiful than a desert wedding? Dramatic mountainscapes, open vistas, and towering cacti form a stunning backdrop to desert nuptials. Even natural lighting is more breathtaking in a desert setting. Hazy morning mirages shift to bold and beautiful sunsets. Bright blue skies end in millions of glittering stars.
Whether you’re hosting a boho desert wedding or more formal affair, you’ll want to plan a celebration that captures the beauty of this magnificent landscape. PartySlate looked through hundreds of real weddings to find our favorite desert wedding ideas. From mirrored arches that render optical illusions to succulent table décor, we know 12 ways to set your celebration apart from the rest.
1. Let the Desert Be Your Focal Point

With simple wooden benches and a frame of neutral wood cutouts, a towering cactus becomes the dramatic focal point for this desert-chic ceremony. For more boho desert wedding inspiration, see how the bouquets and centerpieces feature the same style of lavish pampas grass.

With ever-shifting sands and refracting light rays, the desert spins optical illusions at every turn. This stunning outdoor ceremony took its inspiration from the natural landscape. Consecutive mirrored archways reshape the surrounding canyons, while dreamy pampas grass beautifully complements the earth-toned desert.
For centuries, civilizations have sought to turn the desert into a welcoming oasis. We love how desert palms create a tropical escape in the midst of endless sands and stark canyons. This wedding arch, in particular, turns this arid landscape into a verdant garden. Make sure to see how the desert wedding bouquet wowed with the same palm leaf details.

Incorporate your wedding color palette into florals, linen, glassware — and even the surrounding landscape. Colorful lighting projections extended this event space far into the desert mesas. Make sure to see how this vibrant color scheme was also incorporated into the moody and dramatic tablescapes.
Your first look will be one of the most memorable moments of your wedding day. It will also be one of the most photographed. Take advantage of your location and stage your first look against a stunning desert backdrop. We love how towering cacti frame this couple for the perfect shot. Make sure to see the lavish floral mandap, as well. We’ve always known flowers and the desert are a match made in heaven.

La Quinta, CA
Don’t let the desert sun keep you from enjoying an outdoor ceremony or reception. Umbrellas pair beauty with utility, so guests can enjoy your nuptials in both comfort and style. Make sure to see how this stunning ceremony site appeared from afar — with the Santa Rosa Mountains in the backdrop.

Apache Junction, AZ
When it comes to invitations and signage, take inspiration from the desert landscape. We love how cacti illustrations add a whimsical touch to this custom print suite. Discover the real cacti behind the look at this beautiful desert wedding in Arizona. The first-look photos are particularly stunning.
Succulents dress up any wedding tablescape — without the help of a single bloom. These eco-friendly centerpieces celebrate Tucson’s native plant life. Make sure to see how succulents inspired everything from the ceremony to reception aesthetic. Even the cake benefitted from succulent details.

You’ll want to make sure everyone quenches their thirst in the hot desert sun. Signature cocktails are a fun way to add color to the desert scenery — while also giving guests some respite from the higher temperatures. See how this couple’s signature drinks matched the colors palette of the bride’s bouquet. We are officially swooning.

Pampas grass thrives in desert landscapes. This hardy plant is not only resilient; it’s also beautiful. We love how the soft neutral color palette mirrors the desert sand and stone vistas. Of course, delicate pops of pink also bring a romantic vibe to this picture-perfect tablescape.
Bougainvillea vines brighten this neutral desert backdrop — with a little help from a custom-made tux. Brilliant pinks enhance the scene many times over. See how a vivid pink wedding cake takes monochromatic desert wedding décor to the next level, while elevated floral centerpieces create a garden oasis for wining-and-dining.
Guests will want to enjoy the stunning desert scenery. Give them the opportunity to revel in the surrounding beauty with outdoor entertainment — be it a live band or interactive lawn games. See how this desert wedding kept the mountain views in sight at all times with cornhole games and an elegant ceremony. Best of all, the reception venue reflected the backdrop of mountains with mirrored paneling.
Desert weddings range from elegant and formal to boho-chic. As such, your wedding fashion will depend on the theme and style of your celebration. For a more elevated look, we recommend minimalist satins and lavish, feathery ruffles. Some of our favorite boho wedding attire includes free-flowing gowns and lots of lace.
Guests should look to the wedding invitation or website for information on dress code. Once you know the level of formality, you can model your attire accordingly.
