We love a good party theme. A party theme can help you select the perfect venue, from a blank canvas at a loft event space to a glamorous luxury hotel ballroom. A party theme can beautifully inspire décor, from centerpieces and table linens to backdrops and balloon arches. Crafting a menu around a party theme can lead to an immersive — and delicious — event experience. Even guest attire can be inspired by a well-chosen party theme.

Many visitors to PartySlate.com start gathering inspiration for their events by exploring different party themes — and we have many, many to explore. From sports-themed birthday parties to fashion-themed Bat Mitzvah celebrations, PartySlate features celebrations with themes of all kinds. But over the past six months, there were 5 unique party themes that you searched for more than any others. Scroll to see PartySlate.com’s 5 most-popular party themes, plus an inspired event we love for each theme.

Neon was truly everywhere at this creative and inspired corporate event, hosted at Mezzanine SF in San Francisco. From geometric light installations to a light-up neon foosball table (and much more incredible décor from Blueprint Studios), the planners at Roar Events incorporated the neon party theme into each and every event element. Even the delicious hors d’oeuvres from Culinary Eye Catering & Events were complemented and highlighted by neon accents, including neon-printed menus (teasing chocolate-dipped donut holes) and bright orange and blue serving dishes.

Miami, FL

Now that we’re back in the 20s again, The Great Gatsby is inspiring celebrations of all kinds. So many events, in fact, that we dedicated an entire article to the theme. But since the article’s publish date, PartySlate has seen an even bigger influx of Gatsby-themed celebrations, including this milestone birthday party, hosted at the Historic Alfred I. Dupont Building in Miami. Glitz, glam, and plenty of gold accents made this a party to remember. The planners and designers at LV Event Designs highlighted the historic venue with cascading red roses, gilded bars, and plenty of on-theme entertainment.

New York, NY

This is one of the most creative Halloween parties we have ever seen. The planners at NYLUX Events orchestrated a memorable celebration at Union West, thanks in large part to an impressive roster of creative partners. Guests enjoyed bites, treats, and sweets from some of New York’s most talented caterers, including Wafels & Dinges, Neuman’s Kitchen, and Creative Edge Parties. And we won’t soon forget about the spooky-chic décor from Patrick J Clayton Productions, Drape Kings, and other design partners, as well as perfectly-printed signage and menus from Alpine Creative Group. Beautini also ensured all guests were in costume — in style.

The professional planners at Creative Touch Party Design took notable cues from the Palm Beach, Florida surroundings to inspire their vision for this glamorous, tropical wedding. The stunning ballroom at the Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach was transformed into a tropical paradise as a result of elevated palm, pineapple, and pink décor from the design team at Xquisite Events. This incredible event team offers us the perfect example of how to put an elegant, modern spin on a fun, creative theme.
